Growing up in Northern Nigeria has influenced my love for pattern, motifs and building them around regular elements/objects. In this part of the country, tools, weapons and furniture where typical decorated with markings and designs. A keen eye is able to separate ones made for royalty and those made for the common man. This art tagged kings guards features three colorfully decorated spears which are symbols of directness and honor.
